The Centres for Neurodivergence stand at the forefront of reshaping how society designs educational environments and professional workspaces for everyone. By embracing the profound significance of neurodivergence within the general population, this initiative champions true individualization and personalization over rigid conformity. Teachers and parents know that children thrive when their unique cognitive profiles are understood and valued rather than forced into a standard mould. Ultimately, building neuroinclusive schools and workplaces proves that honouring diverse ways of thinking creates far more effective and efficient communities where every single person can genuinely succeed.
The ONAMAP Education Group proudly operates two dedicated Neurodivergent Centres to serve our communities. The York Region Centre for Neurodivergence and the Toronto Centre for Neurodivergence provide comprehensive support through both welcoming physical locations and accessible virtual sessions. Our centres offer specialized programming tailored for parents of neurodivergent children as well as direct support and guidance for neurodivergent adults. We strive to create a deeply supportive community where individuals and families can access the resources they need to thrive.
A core responsibility of both centres is the active promotion of neuro-inclusive workspaces and neuro-inclusive classrooms. We work closely with employers and educators to foster environments that embrace and support cognitive diversity. In addition to our advocacy and consulting work, our centres provide special tools explicitly designed for neurodivergent people. These practical, everyday implements help individuals navigate their educational, professional, and personal lives with greater ease and confidence.
Neurodivergent centres provide comprehensive programming, specialized consulting, and engaging workshops designed specifically for parents. We empower families with actionable insights and community connection. Looking ahead, our centres will expand to offer direct therapy services starting in 2027, creating a holistic continuum of care that champions diverse minds.
Navigating psychological reports, assessments, and school support systems can feel overwhelming. At Onamap Education Group, we partner directly with parents to bridge the gap between clinical assessments and everyday success:
Assessment & Report Interpretation: We work alongside parents to review and interpret complex psychological reports, psychoeducational assessments, and clinical findings, translating technical terms into clear, actionable understanding.
Tailored Strategies & Programming: We co-create individualized strategies, behavioral tools, and customized learning solutions built specifically around your child's unique strengths, sensory needs, and neurodivergent profile.
This describes individuals whose brains process information and interact with the world in ways that align with dominant societal standards or expectations. A neurotypical person experiences typical developmental and neurological patterns without significant variations in learning or processing styles. It is simply a way to describe the majority baseline that schools and workplaces were traditionally designed around.
Refers to people whose brains process information differently than what society considers typical. This includes conditions and variations such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and sensory processing differences. Being neurodivergent is not a flaw or a deficit. Instead, it represents a natural and valuable form of human diversity. These individuals often bring unique strengths, creative problem solving skills, and fresh perspectives to our classrooms and communities.
This describes environments, practices, and mindsets that actively welcome, support, and value all types of minds. A neuroinclusive classroom or home does not force every child to fit into a single rigid mold. Instead, it adapts the environment to meet diverse needs, offering flexible learning options, sensory friendly spaces, and genuine acceptance. When we embrace neuroinclusivity, we ensure that every child feels safe to learn and grow as their authentic self.
