At the ONAMAP Education Group, our Neurodivergent Centres are dedicated spaces designed to empower and support individuals with diverse cognitive profiles. While current statistics often report that 20 percent of the population has a neurodivergent profile, we estimate that the true number is actually over 50 percent. Many individuals remain undiagnosed due to systemic barriers to access and widespread misunderstandings around neurodivergence. The concept of a neurotypical brain was a convenient historical baseline, but it is simply not realistic in our diverse world. By recognizing that neurodivergence likely represents the majority, it becomes clear how crucial it is to cater to these diverse needs. We actively need these dedicated centres to help educate communities and inspire the creation of truly neuro-inclusive spaces everywhere.
To meet these vital community needs, our centres provide a robust array of in-person and virtual services for all ages. We maintain a trusted directory that allows individuals to easily reach external professionals for clinical services. Internally, we have our own dedicated team of therapists and wellness coaches ready to provide immediate guidance. For younger learners, we offer specialized tutors and educators who design experiential, hands-on projects and interactive programming specifically for children with neurodivergent profiles and their families. We also provide comprehensive counselling services and specialized support structures exclusively designed for adults with neurodivergent profiles.
We are incredibly proud to offer special services in Toronto dedicated specifically to Black communities. This vital initiative operates as part of a unique grant programming partnership with local Black community organizations, ensuring culturally relevant care and accessible support. Beyond direct services, we focus on advocacy and empowerment through our diverse range of literature. We offer numerous publications surrounding neurodivergence that highlight powerful case studies and real-world examples of neuroplasticity and resilience. A cornerstone of this educational effort is our Neurodivergent Magazine, a key publication with multiple issues currently available for purchase on Amazon to help foster empowerment for neurodivergent people globally.
Our commitment to innovation extends deeply into active research collaborations. We work closely with institutional partners through our dedicated research and development hubs. These partnerships allow us to offer exciting opportunities for families to try new wellness therapeutic programs, such as art therapy, digital companion tools, and natural wellness experiences, all facilitated by trained experts. We also connect directly with faculties of education across Canada to share our latest research and insights with academia. Our Neurodivergent Centres are new, evolving, and constantly growing to meet community needs. We warmly invite you to get involved and help us shape the future of inclusive education and neuro-inclusive workplaces.
There are dozens of new games designed to help students learn about important healthy living and ecological concepts on our teacher tools website.
